SM The Ballad "SM The Ballad Vol. 2 - Breath"

 

Background

On February 3, 2013, SM sources spoke with My Daily and said, “SM the Ballad is planning to come back in February. They are currently in the last stages of preparation.” SM The Ballad is a project group without fixed members but has a rotation of artists who specialize in vocals and have a strong presence in the ballad genre. The SM source added, “The members of the past will not be in the group but this time, TVXQ's Max Changmin, Super Junior's Yesung, Girls’ Generation's Taeyeon, SHINee's Jonghyun, F(x)'s Krystal, EXO's Chen, Super Junior-M's Zhou Mi and Zhang Liyin will participate.”
The album consists of a total of six tracks centered around the theme of a breakup. Two of the tracks will also have three versions, including Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. The Korean version of "Breath" is by Taeyeon and Jonghyun; the Chinese version is by Chen and Zhang Liyin, while the Japanese version by Max Changmin and Krystal. The Korean and Japanese version of "Blind" is by Yesung, which were recorded prior to his military enlistment. The Chinese version of "Blind" is by Zhou Mi.
SM Entertainment has announced that the releases will begin on the February 10 with Taeyeon and Jonghyun's duet "Breath" (Korean version), February 11 with Jonghyun and Chen's duet "One Day", February 12 with Taeyeon's solo "Set Me Free", February 13 with Yesung's solo (Korean & Japanese version) and Zhou Mi's (Chinese version) "Blind", Chen and Krystal's duet "When I Was When U Were", and also Chinese (Chen and Zhang Liyin) and Japanese (Max Changmin and Krystal) versions of "Breath"
The full EP was released on February 13, 2014.

Promotions

Taeyeon and Jonghyun will perform "Breath" for the first time on M! Countdown on the 13th. Chen and Zhang Li Yin In will also perform the Chinese version of "Breath" on the live broadcast of Chinese Hunan TV's 'Element of Joy' on the 14th at 8 PM. The song is also being promoted on the shows KBS's Music Bank, Music Core and Inkigayo in February.
